The United States Special Representative for Afghanistan, Indian Officials Meet on Afghanistan
US and India will work together to address their shared interests in a stable Afghanistan, West said.
The United States Special Representative for Afghanistan, Thomas West, met with Indian officials on Afghanistan in New Delhi.
West said he talked with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Harsh V Shringla, and Joint Secretary JP Singh and some other officials in New Delhi over the US and India’s shared interests in Afghanistan.
“We will work together with our close partner to address our abundant shared interests in a stable and peaceful Afghanistan,” West tweeted.
On November 8, West started his first trip in this role to Europe and Asia as the US special envoy for Afghanistan. He visited Brussels and consulted with EU and US allies on Afghanistan.
On November 12, West went to Islamabad and joined the Troika Plus meeting on Afghanistan.
Before visiting India, West went to Russia and met with Russian officials on Afghanistan.
